Get Involved!

Our school programs and events are run entirely by the volunteers from our school community. There are many volunteer opportunities, both big and small, where you can get involved! All types of volunteering, whether directly with the kids and school or behind the scenes, helps enrich our students' academic and social experience and is very appreciated!"

Room Parents

In addition to helping the teacher with classroom-specific jobs, Room Parents work closely with the PTA to help disseminate information to each class. Please tell your child's teacher if you are interested in serving as Room Parent or Co-Room Parent.

Art Docents

Franklin’s art curriculum has been designed and is taught by our wonderful parent volunteer Art Docents. No art experience is needed to help! Several Art Docents are needed in every class.

Would you like to help lead an art lesson in your child's class? Please fill out this contact form to volunteer and to be put in touch with other art volunteers from your class.

Have questions? Contact Kari Halisky via Konstella.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Committee

The Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee promotes the values of belonging and providing equitable opportunities for student success and well-being. We both joyfully celebrate our differences and support our community in doing the difficult work associated with dismantling dominant narratives. No experience necessary -- all you need is an open mind! Please either join our committee on Konstella or contact Evaly Long.

Assembly Coordinator

As assembly coordinator you will find and coordinate guest speakers or performance groups to do presentations for our school, including notable local authors & illustrators and community activists.

Contact Evaly Long if you are interested.

Community Service Committee

This committee plans efforts that impact our local community, including food drives for the food bank, coat drives, etc.

If interested in joining, please join our committee on Konstella or contact Alisha Laborico.

Fundraising Committee

Our two biggest fundraisers in a typical year are the Walkathon and the Spring Auction event.  If you have any other fundraising ideas, please let us know. We’re open to your suggestions (and help!).

If you have any fundraising ideas or questions, please contact our Fundraising Chair, Lindsay Kemp Bruckstein.

Event Volunteers

You can find many of our fundraising and community events on our "event" page. If you have any other event ideas, please let us know. We’re open to your suggestions (and help!).

Drop-off Coordinator

Parent volunteers help the kids who arrive via car exit the vehicle safely and expediently in order to keep the line moving. Shifts typically happen per classroom (e.g., 5th grade parents in October, 4th grade parents in November, etc.). The coordinator helps assign classrooms by working with the room parent. If interested in being our volunteer coordinator, please email Alisha Laborico.
